General

Character Name: Captain Jack Harkness
Species (human/alien/vampire/other?): Human+
Extra-human/abnormal abilities, if any?: Immortal. Can die but doesn't stay dead and ages incredibly slowly. Jack also has genetically enhanced pheromones which cause him to be much more attractive to others than he already is.

Psychology

1. Is it okay for your character's thoughts to be read/their mind to be probed? Sometimes. In certain situations he may be actively projecting psychic shields, though they can be ripped down fairly easily with the ability to do so. An OOC heads up would be appreciated.

2. Is it okay for any of your character’s intense/distressing memories to be seen/heard/read in this situation? Yes, though see above.

3. What kind of mind does your character have? Are they disturbed at all? Are their thoughts ordered or jumbled? Jack's mind is rather convoluted. On the surface he's a bit carefree but he is constantly suppressing bad memories, insecurities, and incapacitating feelings of guilt. As a result, his thoughts tend to be fairly orderly.

4. Is it okay for your character’s emotions to be sensed? Yes, though see above with regards to shielding.

5. Does your character have a weak or strong mind? Are they susceptible to influence or hypnotism? Jack has a strong amount of willpower in his system, but his psychic training leaves something to be desired. That said, he could be susceptible to hypnotism or other supernatual abilities. It would take a whole lot of social influence to affect him, however.

6. Does your character have supernatural/mental fortification against mind-reading or telepathic communication? He tries. He's had training and can manage some shielding, but that class was one of the only ones he couldn't excel in. If a stronger telepath was probing him he wouldn't be able to do much about it, beyond alert them to the fact that he's had training and is rubbish at it.

7. In the case of characters who are extra-sentient/psychic and can just 'know' things about people, can the muns of these characters use the powers of Wikipedia to get information about your character? Yes, though OOC communication would be useful, as my head!canon has its subtleties that Wikipedia can't take into account.

8. If so, is there anything that should absolutely never ever be brought up? The only thing I can think of would be the roughly 900 years he spent buried "alive". I haven't decided how I feel about the logistics of that time, but I do know that I like to play it as though he doesn't remember anything. I would rather not have to go through the level of insanity that he would be driven to should he suddenly be forced to remember.

9. Anything that should absolutely be brought up? I would think his immortality and the repeated deaths that span two centuries would be pretty note-worthy to an unsuspecting mind-rapist.

10. Will thoughts in the narration be up for grabs? If so, how will you indicate these? Italics/strikes/something else? With the right communication, really anything I type is up for grabs. I tend to narrate how he's feeling at any given moment so if you're looking for that, that would be where to go. If Jack is ever actually thinking to himself or to others, I'd probably put that in italics and maybe quotation marks.

11. Does your character have any fears/phobias that you wouldn't mind being exploited? Ones that you'd like to NOT be exploited? I can't think of anything I would particularly mind per se, but rest assured there are phobias Jack sure as hell wouldn't want to have exploited. He would not be happy to be forced to deal with his fear of commitment unless it were someone he trusted attempting to help him through it. (Though he probably still would pitch a fit about it.)

Physiology

1. Is it okay for your character to be affected by chemical agents? Fear toxins, for example? Sure. Please, someone cover Jack with sex-pollen. ;)

2. Does your character have any unique biological difference that would affect their resistance to toxins/chemical substances? I think that would be a case-by-case basis, but Jack's biology is a little more advanced since he's not only from the 51st century (With his genetically modified pheromones, it's also usually accepted fanon that he has resistances/immunities to most STDs and other "ancient" diseases like the flu and such. That's not to say he can't get sick, it would just have to be something different than his culture had immunized for.) His being immortal can help with things like that too... he's been known to enter and stay in a radiation-filled chamber which vaporizes normal humans, but completely doesn't affect him. Jack also has been a time-traveller for most of his life, which can make biological changes that don't manifest, but can be scanned for.

3. Does your character have any notable genetic/supernatural/biological difference that would make their blood in any way different to a regular baseline human's (that would make them taste different if they were fed on by a vampire, for example)? See above. I can't think of anything that would make bodily fluids different, but that could be up to the interpretor. A vampire might be able to taste his immortality? I dunno, it's honestly never come up.

Physical

1. How okay are you with your character coming to physical harm? Absolutely. Jack likes pain.

2. How okay are you with your character's home/possessions being targeted by bad guys? I'd like for Jack's memory box to remain intact, as it's all he's got of his life and he goes to great strides to protect it. Everything else is fair game.

3. Can your character be impacted by telekinesis? Sure.

4. With regard to vampires, would your character be willing to be a donor? Uhh... probably not a willing donor, unless there was something in it for him. (Read: sex.)

5. If no, then how about unwilling? I'd be fine with exploring that.

6. With regard to shapeshifters, are you okay with having those with this power taking the shape of your character? I personally hate shape-shifting stories in any canon, but I'd be willing to give it a try, I suppose.

7. If your character has any superhuman abilities, would you be okay with these being replicated by those who have the power to absorb/take on the powers of others? I'm going to say no. Even with the new canon which confronts this issue for a moment at the end, I'm going to say that was a one-time deal dealing with the specific circumstances of the change. I'd also rather not deal with everyone who takes some of Jack's blood suddenly becoming immortal.

8. In a physical confrontation, is it okay if characters who have the power to sense/foresee/predict movements use this to their advantage against your character? Sure, I'm fine with that.

9. Are you willing to participate in plots where your character will sustain damage outside of a fight, such as in situations with torture, environmental hazards, or accidents? Yes. Jack and torture are old friends who tend to meet up every once in a while.

10. Is there anything about them that would stand out noticeably (things like scars, physical augmentations, illness, anomalies, etc.) if they were ever injured or otherwise examined by a doctor? Are any of these things noticeable to others without close inspection? Oh, Jack was examined by a Doctor.... ;) ;) Nothing very noticeable except his attractiveness at a glance. Were he to get grievously wounded, his healing factor would probably be noticeable. Also noticeable would be his waking up after being killed...

Magics

1. Can your character be influenced and tempted by magical or supernatural means? Sure.

2. If yes, will someone with the ability be able to find this out about them, and in what areas (think the seven deadly sins) can your character be tempted? Lust. Jack's #1 weakness is his hedonism. It takes a lot for him to actually turn down the offer of sex. Jack also has a fair amount of vanity and pride that could be used against him. But more than those are his feelings of responsibility for those he cares about. Jack will sacrifice himself a million times over before allowing someone to hurt his friends.

3. Could your character be glamoured (a form of mind control employed by vampires to make humans compliant/alter their memories etc.)? I suppose so, but I would like to plot it OOC before it happens.

4. Can your character be effected by spells of any kind, and are there any specific types to which they would be immune? Sure... I can't think of anything he'd be immune to, except maybe a disease spell like syphilis or something. Though I think it might be funny for him to get it anyway, even with his immunities since it's supernatural syphilis instead of biological.

5. Can your character's presence be sensed by characters with the power to read auras/pick up generalized vibes from people? For some, namely Time Lords, Jack is a big giant beacon of WRONG. Anything else with a temporal sense would feel it too, I would assume. Jack is a Fixed Point in Time.

6. If yes, what kind of stand-out things about your character can be sensed? See above.

7. With regard to characters that can sense danger/receive visions/predict general doom, are you okay with your character being the subject of any of this, if the occasion arises? Sure.

Privacy

1. Will your character change their name as it is shown on the map? If so, what will they change it to? No.

2. If they’re able, will they ever opt to hide their location on the map? Sometimes, probably, yes.

3. If your character is from an earlier point in their canon than another member of your cast, what is and is not okay for your fellow castmate to spill the beans about regarding your character’s future? Please don't tell him that Rex becomes immortal. Beyond that, I can't think of anything else. If he were told be becomes mortal again, he would probably just refuse to believe it.

4. With regard to characters that like to snoop, can they find anything that's been publicly said by your character through the tablets? Sure.

5. How about privately? Jack's pretty good at hacking and technology. I think he would use pretty secure settings when needed. That said, he's not infallible. With the right reasons, I could allow it.

6. Is there anything you'd especially like to be known about your character, for the purposes of amusement? I am amused by his utter lack of shame when it comes to sex. It might be amusing for others to note that he's pretty kinky...

7. Anything you especially don't? Not that I can think of.

8 Do you like threadhopping (a character not already in a thread jumping in unexpectedly to reply to a comment), and are you okay with other people threadhopping in your threads and posts? Totally okay with that!
